Samsung 9 Series

Samsung 9 Series NP900X3A-A03USThe Samsung 9 Series 13.3-inch laptop, with profile measuring only 0.62-0.64″ thin, is now on sale in the USA.




The 2.88-pound Samsung 9 Series which features the “Sandy Bridge”-based 2nd gen Intel Core i5-2537M dual-core ultra-low voltage processor, currently available only in this notebook. There are also the Intel HD GT2 integrated graphics, 4GB of DDR3 memory, a 128GB solid state drive, 6-cell battery, and a resolution of 1366×768 on the 400-nit bright screen.

Laptop’s chassis is made of Duralumin, which has “twice the strength of aluminum, despite being light in weight”.
Samsung’s flagship ultraportable includes a 1.3MP web camera, stereo speakers, Intel Wireless Display technology, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, Gigabit LAN, HDMI connector, one USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0 port, and a Micro SD memory card slot.

The Samsung 9 Series NP900X3A-A03US runs Windows 7 Home Premium OS. The laptop “usually ships within 18 – 19 days”. In mid-April, the company is expected to roll out the 13.3″ 9 Series with Windows 7 Professional for $1,699, as well as an 11-inch Series 9 notebook with Home Premium.

Samsung Series 2, 4, 6


Samsung has released the Series 2, Series 4, and Series 6business laptops, featuring the 2nd Generation Intel Core processors, dedicated video cards in select models with Nvidia Optimus switchable GPU technology, and improved ruggedness in some models.

Samsung’s mid-range Series 4 is also offered in 12.5- and 14-inch sizes, but provides Core i3, i5, and i7 processors, up to 6GB RAM, up to 500GB HDD, a 6-cell battery for up to 7 hours of run time, and also Intel HD GPU.
The Series 6 are higher-end 14″ and 15.6″ Core i3 ~ i7 powered business-rugged notebooks with switchable graphics that combines the Intel HD with Nvidia NVS 4200M. Other specifications include up to 8GB of RAM, up to 500GB HDD or up to 256GB solid state drive, and up to 7 hours of battery life. Samsung’s 6 series laptops have reinforced magnesium alloy construction.

The notebooks feature spill-resistant sealed cases, metal hinges, LED backlight 1366 x 768 screens with improved 300-nit brightness in select models and 1600 x 900 resolution option in Series 6, a 1.3MP webcam and array microphone, USB 3.0, a fingerprint reader and the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) in the 4 and 6 series, and Windows 7 Professional OS. The Series 6 additionally provides Intel vPro system management technology.
The Series 2 and Series 4 are scheduled to be available in April 2011, while the Series 6 is expected to hit the market in May 2011. We have no info on pricing at the time of this writing.
